Man is nothing but an animal. Some qualities especially power of feel differs man from other creatures. Self-centre, selfishness etc. are the adjectives applicable to human qualities where as benevolent, sympathetic, selfless etc. are also adjectives which are found microscopic and in museum now a days. If individual,family, society and broader society become imbalance then all the problems rise. If man become self centre and selfish then it creates a chaotic situation in the society – it invites suffering situation for others in the society.There is no end of need in human lives. After fulfilling one need it invokes another one. If one need is sky climbing and after materializing all the needs/he becomes the super power which may bring deplorable life to a large number.KJKS opines that necessity of equality in social life is enormous. It is abetter indication - Cultural inequality is decreasing day by day but inequality in socio-economic-politico lives grasp all the society. As result there is lot of confrontations and problems in our living place.

 Controlling and demolition of in equality should be the prime job and main mission of social activist and social organization.If change does not occur in the society one must attach with it. One day achange must come – a reaction must take place in the society. In this respective must remember the words of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, “Without your involvement you can’t succeed. With your involvement you can’t fail.”KJKS goes through an untiring initiation for the total development of human being as well as society. KJKS works directly or indirectly for the total development of downtrodden, neglected, exploited and oppressed people at 27 blocks under 6subdivision in the district of Purba Medinipur, Jhargram, Paschim Medinipur and South 24 parganas for a long period of last 75 years.

Stories of Hope

Sumi Mondal is a resident of Harinapasdal village of Bhajachauli Gram Panchayat under Contai-III Block in Purba Medinipur district. She is 17 years old. She has never seen her father till her birth. Her father, Lalu Mondal left her mother long days ago. Since then Usha Mondal, mother of Sumi nurtured her, Father of Usha Mondal, Sarbeswar Kamila is very poor. Maternal uncle and maternal grandfather of Sumi was looking after her. But once her mother left home being married to another person –when she could not bear loneliness. Maternal uncle of Sumi denied to look after her. Then maternal grandfather of started to live in hut at the bank of a river.

Kajla Jana Kalyan Samity has started their activities on child protection issues in Bhajachauli Gram Panchayat. At a meeting with VLCPC the staff of KJKS came to the helpless condition of Sumi and her grandfather. A decision was taken to apply forgetting benefit of sponsorship programme of ICPS. Accordingly VLCPC of Harinpasdalbar sent the resolution of their meeting to the DCPU of PurbaMedinipur.

Representatives of Contai-III and DCPU inspected the worst situation of Sumi and her grandfather. Nilkamal Ghorai, Upa-Pradhan of Bhajachauli Gram Panchayat, maintained liaison with the district administration regularly as if she gets the facilities of sponsorship programme as early as possible.

At last, Sumi was nominated for getting the benefits of sponsorship programme in the month ofJuly,2020. Now District Social Welfare Department is providing Rs. 2,000/- per month for running her expenses on education, clothing and health.

Sumi has grown up combating economic and social crisis and she has passed H.S. in 2020 from Sarpai Model High School. Presently, she is studying at Durmuth Deshpran Mahabidyalay in Vocational stream.

In the words of Sumi, "I am very much lucky. KJKS and VLCPC has felt my problems and constraints. Through their advocacy, I am gettingRs.2000/- per month. I am inspired to live and to continue my education through this great initiative of them."

Debasis Chaudhuri contributed as a partial think maker on behalf of VSSU, West Bengal in the preparation and later in presentation as Co-PI for VSSU for the World Bank Aided NAIP Project “Value Chain on World Bee Honey” implemented on a networking manner by VSSU, the only NGO in West Bengal, University of Agriculture and Sciences, Bangalore, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, and NCL, Pune.
    2. An Integrated Development Programme for Poverty-Stricken Children and Their Parents Engaged as Daily Laborers in Different Brick-Fields in Barasat – II Development Block in North 24 Parganas District, West Bengal – Sanctioned by GOAL, India – Implemented by KDS, WB, IND. Debasis Chaudhuri worked here as main theme maker and project proposal writing.
    3. Primary education programme for the poor children with a prime focus on the girl children belonging to low socio-economic condition at Parulia village in Baliapal block in Balasore district in Orissa – Sanctioned by Ministry of Economic Affairs, Government of Japan through Japan Consulate, Kolkata under GGP Program. Debasis played the role as a consultant in the project.
    4. Establishment of a hostel building for the orphan and other needy and neglected children of the primary school at Harpara in North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal – It was sanctioned by Ministry of Economic Affairs, Government of Japan through Japan Consulate, Kolkata under GGP Program but at the time of transferring fund the FCRA Account of Barasat Anweshan very unlikely and unfortunately it could not be possible due to FCRA Account problem of NGO. Debasis Chaudhuri played the role of Consultant in the project. 
    5. Socio-Economic Empowerment of the Distressed and Disadvantaged People in the Sundarban Area. It was sanctioned by Canadian High Commission, New Delhi under CFLI project to SEDP, a renowned NGO based in Kolkata. Debasis was the consultant of the project. It was basically a project of empowering women through strengthening local self governance.
    6. An Innovative Adult Education and Skill Development Programme for Poverty-Stricken Women Belonging to SC, ST, and Minority Communities in Malda District, West Bengal. – Debasis Chaudhuri played the role of a theme maker and project proposal writing.
    7. Ujjawala – A comprehensive scheme for prevention of trafficking and rescue, rehabilitation and reintegration of victims of trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation in Thoubal district in Manipur in the Indo-Myanmar Border area. The project was most probably sanctioned by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. – Debasis Chaudhuri played the role of development of theme and project proposal writing.
    8. Integrated Development Programme for the Railway-Platform Children in the Dumdum Junction Station under South Dumdum Municipal. It was submitted to KUSP (Kolkata Urban Services for the Poor), a funding of DFID. The project idea was developed by Debasis.
    9. Establishment of a 100 beded hospital for the poverty-stricken rural people at Harpara village in North 24-Parganas district in West Bengal. The project was prepared by Debasis Chaudhuri for Barasat Answeshan.
    10. Income Generation Program for the poor women through transfer of an innovative technology of Air Breathing Fish-Culture in Bamboo Cage in Thoubal district in Manipur submitted under the scheme of ‘Science & Technology for Women’. The project was initially selected and the principal investigator was invited the present the proposal by the Authorities of Department of Science & Technology for Women, Government of India. Debasis developed the theme and idea and also wrote the proposal.
    11. Construction of a Vocational Training Centre for Skill Formation Among Distressed and Deserted Women in Different Trades for Self-Employment and Employment Generation at ARM Complex, Parulia Village, Baliapal Block, Balasore District, Odisha – Sanctioned by Consulate of Japan, Kolkata. Debasis Chaudhuri played the main role as a Governing body member and consultant of ARM, Odisha.
    12. Primary Education Program for the Disadvantaged Students Belonging to Tribal Communities at Lumbung Village in Chandel Block, Chandel District, Manipur – Sanctioned by Japan Consulate, New Delhi. Debasis Chaudhuri developed the project as a Consultant. 
    13. Self-Employment of Backward Rural Women Through Skill Up-Gradation Training on Traditional Bamboo Handicrafts in Balasore District, Odisha – Sanctioned by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. Debasis Chaudhuri played the main role as a Governing body member and consultant of ARM, Odisha.
    14. Self-Employment of Tribal Women Through a Training Programme on Horticultural Plantation, Harvesting, Grading, Preservation, and Marketing in Chandel District, Manipur. The project was developed by Debasis Chaudhuri.
    15. Economic rehablitation Program for the Cyclone Phailin Victims – Sanctioned by Bestseller (Garments Company in Denmark, through ACA, Denmark) - Debasis Chaudhuri played the main role as a Governing body member and consultant of ARM, Odisha. Debasis Chaudhuri also helped Mr. Rune Christopher, Director, ACA to work as interpreter from Oriya to English to directly sent the message of cyclone cum flood devastated people in Balasore district in Odisha to the Danish TV. It helped ACA to get the greater funding.
    16. WDF15-1284 – Diabetes Awareness Programme to Rural Poor in West Bengal – Sanctioned by World Diabetes Foundation, Denmark. Debasis Chaudhuri was attached as a Project Manager.

An Innovative Intervention for the Prevention of STDs/HIV/AIDS Through the Introduction of a Peer-Led Behavioral Change Communication System Among the Migratory Laborers Working in Different Industries in Haldia, Purba Medinipur District, West Bengal – Sanctioned by National Aids Control Society through West Bengal AIDS Control Society. Based on the data and survey Debasis developed the project.
    31. Consumers' awareness programme in Howrah district in West Bengal. Submitted to Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India. This project was developed by Debasis Chaudhuri.
